My gift to the Goddesses this new season – GRATITUDE JOURNALS
We start the year off Goddesses with Gratitude journals. Remember to bring your journal to each event where we will have an opportunity to work on our gratitude exercises. Check back to the blog for activities to help enrich your soul and continue your journey with me. Post your comments and share your discoveries. These activities are a collaboration from various readings I have collected. Each gathering I will present a new activity to the group and we can share and learn together. I welcome your feedback.
ACTIVITY 1 ( Oct 1- ABC’s of Healthy Eating Gathering)
Take a few minutes, to stop, and breath. We all have very busy lives and often find ourselves doing for others. Take this time now to take some time for YOU. Close your eyes if you need to. Now, list one or more reasons for something you are grateful for that happened to you today. It can be big or it can be small. Keep this journal with you , in your car, by your nightstand, in your purse. Turn to it every now and then and continue to write events that you are grateful for and appreciative of. Look to these entries every now and then to remind yourself of how even the little things can mean so much. Today I am grateful for all of you coming here tonight to share, explore and learn along with me!

Okay, so Karen gives us a lovely journal at the most recent GG gathering and encourages us to write an entry for the day. I had just raced out of the house to make the event, leaving my husband in charge of dinner, homework and my son’s 8th grade Science Fair project. Basically, I could not get out of the house fast enough to escape the nightly chaos and drama. However, when it came time for me to write in my journal…I was feeling a tad bit guilty. So, I promptly wrote a paragraph about how grateful I was for my husband’s support with the children…how gratful I was to have him as my partner in life…blah, blah, blah!!!! I did mean every word!!! Now for the good part…I come home after the event at 10:30pm to find my husbamd and son in the basement…up to their eyeballs in the Science Fair experiment. No one is happy…of course, except me!!! I have had a lovely night of learning and socializing…and a glass of wine! My husband begins to say that he is glad that I had a nice time (a bit of sarcasm detected here!) because his life (at this exact moment) is miserable!!! He is tired and just wants to go to bed. I get that! So, I say “hold that thought”…and I run upstairs to grab my journal. I rejoin them a few seconds later and proceed to read them both my journal entry. Well, my son is grinning from ear to ear and says…”Dad, you are owned”…which I believe translates into adult terms as “she soooo got you and now you can’t you can’t possibly be mad at her anymore”! So, I was saved by my new journal…my husband laughed and found his sense of humor again…and all is well with the world. Thank you, Karen!!!
